German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned Russia of military intervention in Belarus, DW reported.
Participants in peaceful protests should be able to speak up for their rights and freedoms without outside interference, she said.
Merkel also slammed the statement made by Russian President Vladimir Putin of creating a reserve of Russian security forces that could be used to suppress protests in Belarus.
She expressed hope that such forces will not be used.
