Assistant to the Azerbaijani President, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev commented on the sale of weapons to Armenia, Azeri media reported.

The armament of Armenia has recently caused serious concern among the Azerbaijani public, Hajiyev noted.

Hikmet Hajiyev said this issue was also raised by President Ilham Aliyev to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Cargoes are transported from Russia in various directions, and this causes concern among our public, Hajiyev noted adding that they are not completely satisfied with the explanation of the Russian side and are waiting for clarification on the basis on which the intensive arming of Armenia continues.

During the Tovuz events, Armenia showed that it continues its occupation policy, he added.

According to him, they are not satisfied with the answer that the planes were supposedly carrying construction materials. Cargoes can be transported in other ways, Hajiyev said.
