Minister of Defense of Armenia Davit Tonoyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia Vincenzo Del Monaco, as reported the Ministry of Defense.

Several issues of mutual interest that were related to cooperation in the defense sector were discussed during the meeting.

The parties reaffirmed the new time limits for implementation of actions postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the existing directions for cooperation and touched upon the service of Armenian peacekeepers carrying out their mission as part of UNIFIL and KFOR and the organizing of the relay.

During a discussion on global and regional issues, Davit Tonoyan presented the current situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border and the line of contact and the reasons for the tension that is being maintained.
