Workplace safety rules were violated during welding activities near the wine purveyance tanks at the Armavir village branch of Proshyan Brandy Factory in Armavir Province of Armenia today at around 12:00, and this led to an explosion that caused the death of two employees, while four employees were transferred to Armavir Medical Center with bodily injuries and burns of different degrees.

The news service of the Investigative Committee reports that the Armavir Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case in regard to the incident under the elements of violation of workplace safety rules.

The scene of the incident has been inspected, and several employees have been interviewed.

The six employees of the factory have been declared as victims under the criminal case.

Forensic medical expert examination and forensic medical expert examination of bodies have been designated.

Preliminary investigation is underway.
