President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Haroutyunyan today received Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, as reported the Staff of the President of Artsakh.

The head of state welcomed the visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Armenia to Artsakh ahead of Independence Day, stating that even though all festivities were canceled due to the pandemic, Independence Day still symbolizes a day of pan-national celebration since Artsakh’s independence was an achievement that became a reality for all Armenians around the world.

Expressing gratitude for the cordial reception, Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the Armenians of Artsakh were able to exercise their right to independence with the support of all Armenians and at the price of great human casualties and established statehood, for the existence and development of which the Armenian authorities have assumed great responsibility.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to cooperation of the two Armenian states and attached importance to the need for further development and expansion of inter-parliamentary ties.
