The US Embassy in Armenia today posted the following announcement on its Facebook page:

“The United States is honored to answer the government of Armenia’s request for assistance in implementing its anti-corruption and police reform strategies. Ambassador Tracy recently signed two memoranda of understanding that encapsulate the efforts of our Embassy’s International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) section to respond to this request – by assisting in the development of new anti-corruption institutions and a new patrol police force.

We salute the government of Armenia for involving the donor community in developing anti-corruption and law enforcement institutions based on principles of transparency, accountability, effectiveness, and human rights. The U.S. Embassy’s INL section stands ready to fulfill its core mission of assisting the Armenian government in strengthening institutions across the criminal justice sector.”
