YEREVAN. – Turkey is obstructing the UN peacekeeping activities. Anna Naghdalyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia, stated this at a press conference on Wednesday.
Commenting on a German press report that the flight of a German plane to Yerevan was banned in Turkish airspace, she noted that the defense ministry had not denied this information.
"The fact that Turkey, due to Armenophobia, hinders the UN peacekeeping activities, deserves condemnation," Naghdalyan said, adding that this issue was raised during discussions with their foreign partners.
The aforementioned incident took place in July when this plane was leaving for Yerevan to take back the peacekeepers who took part in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan as part of the German contingent. According to Spiegel daily of Germany, this plane had to return due to this ban. But later, it arrived in Armenia by another route.
