Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan today chaired a consultation devoted to the processes and reforms being implemented in the information security and cybersecurity sectors and the security of the websites of state bodies.

Among the attendees were Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan, Minister of High Technological Industry Hakob Arshakyan and other officials representing interested government agencies.

Avinyan stressed that the issues are more than current, taking into consideration the fact that the military operations that Azerbaijan launched on the northeastern border of Armenia in July ran parallel to the attacks on official websites in Armenia.

The Deputy Prime Miniter stated that it is necessary to further specify the functions and duties of state bodies in the information security and cybersecurity sectors, provide software and devices for protection of websites and develop mechanisms to ensure education and security of state servants.

The participants of the meeting presented the activities that their respective government agencies have carried out in the information security and cybersecurity sectors over the past year and particularly touched upon the gaps in the sectors, the possible solutions and earmarked the future steps and actions.
