Did you know that the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, is an Honorary Citizen of Yerevan? Isabella Abgaryan, a member of the Yerevan Council of the Elders, wrote about this on her Facebook page.
"They granted [this title to him] in 2001. Looking at the [respective] list, you have a clear idea of the political weather of the day, and in some cases it is difficult to find the connection with Yerevan," she added.
To note, then Lebanese President Emile Lahoud also had received the title of Honorary Citizen of Yerevan in the same year.
