The young man suspected in the murder of a 39-year-old man in Verin Karmiraghbyur village of Armenia’s Tavush Province on Monday is from Yerevan, and the son of a former official, according to Aravot.am.

There was an argument Monday over domestic issues, during which the 35-year-old resident of Yerevan punched, hit, and killed Avetik Abgaryan with his hands and feet. This Yerevan resident has been detained.

"He is a grandson of our village (…). They are a cultured family, the mother was a flight attendant, the father worked at the National Security [Service]," Verin Karmiraghbyur village mayor Kamo Chobanyan told Aravot.am. According to him, the murder victim was a resident of Berd community.

According to him, the murder took place in the house of a relative of the murder suspect.
