Attaché of Armenia at Upper Lars checkpoint Aram Tananyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the citizens stuck at the checkpoint have renounced the government’s offer.

According to him, the citizens reacted aggressively to the offer to fly to Mineralnye Vody and Krasnodar via chartered flights on September 5 and 8, respectively.

“Taking into consideration the fact that there are no air tickets for sale, the Consulate General of Armenia in Rostov-na-Don is ready to help book tickets, but the citizens were skeptical and thought the government is trying to trick them,” Tananyan said and explained that, based on specified data, there are 24 citizens of Armenia stuck at Upper Lars checkpoint.

As reported earlier, due to spread of misinformation, 21 citizens of Armenia are stuck in Chmi village (North Ossetia-ed.), which is located near Upper Lars checkpoint.
