These days, representative of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun political party in Armenia Ishkhan Saghatelyan and member of the Supreme Body Ashot Simonyan took 1,000 boxes of humanitarian cargo of food made through the “Help Your Brother-Lebanon” Program of the ARF-D Armenia Supreme Body and Yerkir (Land) Foundation to Lebanon via a plane.

This morning, Saghatelyan and Simonyan, along with members of the Central Committee of ARF-D Lebanon Hagop Havatian and Melik Karakavorian, visited His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See. Saghatelyan provided details of the “Help Your Brother-Lebanon” Program and stressed ARF-D Armenia’s willingness to support the Armenian community of Lebanon during the crisis.

The Supreme Patriarch highly appreciated the Supreme Body’s initiative and affirmed that the assistance is of moral significance and proves the manifestation of the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora triumvirat.

Saghatelyan expressed gratitude to His Holiness Aram I for his care for and generosity towards the Armenian community of Lebanon and for the pan-Armenian fundraiser that he organized and sponsored for the recovery of the Armenians of Lebanon. In this regard, the Supreme Patriarch stressed the need to help the Armenian community of Lebanon recover and the importance of the role of all Armenians around the world.

The meeting also served as an occasion to discuss the urgent issues in Armenia and Artsakh. Saghatelyan talked about the ARF-D’s views and position on Armenia’s domestic political situation, and in his turn, the Catholicos considered healthy and goal-oriented Armenia-Diaspora relations and the creation of wide opportunities for this as necessary.
