The Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly on Friday approved the package of bills that proposes to replace the current coronavirus-related state of emergency in Armenia with quarantine.

Thus, according to this law initiative of the government, in case of spread of infectious diseases, outbreaks and emergencies, at the suggestion of the authorized state body in health care—the Ministry of Justice—the provincial governor or the mayor of Yerevan can declare quarantine at the corresponding administrative department.
