US President Donald Trump has urged the Iranian authorities to pardon the Greco-Roman style wrestler who the authorities say murdered a person during the public rallies in 2018.

Touching upon the reports on the death sentencing of Navid Afkari, Trump tweeted the following: “To the leaders of Iran, I would greatly appreciate if you would spare this young man’s life, and not execute him. Thank you!”
