YEREVAN. – The National Assembly on Friday passed—in the first reading—the bill on declaring quarantine in Armenia, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reported from parliament.

Accordingly, 80 MPs voted for this proposed law, whereas 28 others—against.

As per this law initiative of the government, in case of spread of infectious diseases, outbreaks and emergencies in Armenia, the provincial governors or the mayor of Yerevan can declare quarantine at the corresponding administrative departments, and at the suggestion of the authorized state body in health care: the Ministry of Justice.
