President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov shot from a machine gun in front of cameras, as reported the Chronicle of Turkmenistan portal.

On September 2, Berdimuhamedov convened an outgoing session of the State Security Council, after which he assigned the defense minister to hold a high-level military parade in honor of the country’s independence.

After the session, Berdimuhamedov held a shooting course for soldiers and leaders of law-enforcement authorities and personally fired at targets from two different pistols. Afterwards, the President fired at barrels placed nearby with a ‘minigun’ placed on top of an SUV.

Last year, Berdimuhamedov conducted a surprise military exercise during which he showed his skills in shooting from a bicycle.

Turkmen mass media regularly report on the President’s preferences and leisure. For instance, Berdimuhamedov went fishing and donated to orphans during his vacation in July of this year.
