The Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of Armenia approved the draft of the rules for declaring lockdown in the second reading after considering the package of bills on making amendments and supplements to the Law on Ensuring Sanitary-Epidemiological Safety of the Population of Armenia and related laws.
The bills state that, upon the recommendation of the authorized state body in the healthcare sector, a regional governor or mayor can declare a lockdown in the relevant administrative-territorial department in case of outbreak or spread of infectious diseases and emergency situations.
