Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia Rafik Grigoryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the fines imposed against citizens won’t be annulled after the dissolution of the Commandant’s Office.

According to him, in accordance with the law, the fines automatically remain in legal force, meaning they will be in force in accordance with the decision of the Prime Minister.

The deputy minister added that citizens have the right to appeal the decisions on the fines through a court procedure.

The National Assembly today considered the package of bills on making amendments and supplements to the Law on Ensuring Sanitary-Epidemiological Safety of the Population of Armenia and related laws.

The bill states that, upon the recommendation of the authorized state body in the healthcare sector, a regional governor or mayor can declare a lockdown in the relevant administrative-territorial department in case of outbreak or spread of infectious diseases and emergency situations.
