The result of the second coronavirus test of Ashot Hovsepyan, the accused in the alcohol poisoning case in Armenia, is negative. His lawyer Gor Gevorgyan informed Armenian News-NEWS.am about this.
"[But] since the result of one of the tests was positive and the other was negative, he will be tested again so that it will be clear once and for all," the lawyer added.
To note, Hovsepyan has pneumonia and severe diabetes, and he is injected with insulin several times a day.
Between Monday and Saturday, a total of 46 cases of alcohol poisoning were reported in Armenia, 17 of which resulted in death.
Thirteen patients are receiving alcohol poisoning treatment at various hospitals.
A criminal case was instituted in connection with this incident—and under the Criminal Code articles on producing or selling goods, and performing work or providing services that do not meet safety requirements.
Three people were detained along the lines of this case, and two have been arrested.
