A tragic incident took place Monday in Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, shamshyan.com reported.

Police received a call informing that a shot had been fired and a person was dead on a mountain in Gavar town.

The police and investigators found out that the deceased was Khachik S., 65, a resident of Gegharkunik, who inadvertently had sustained a fatal gunshot wound from the rifle shot that was carelessly fired by his son, Aleksan S., 36, while hunting.

A report is being prepared on the incident.

Also, police and investigators have found the rifle, as well as the car in which they had tried to take the wounded man to the hospital.
