President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko told Russian mass media that the country is ready for snap presidential elections.

“If we change the Constitution, we need to write the words ‘presidential elections’ in the Constitution. I am in favor of snap presidential elections and don’t rule it out,” he said, yet failed to mention when those elections will be held.

“I don’t state periods. The country has yet to adopt a Constitution. If snap presidential elections are held, they need to be held before the parliamentary elections,” he said.
