A new draft law was introduced yesterday, according to which Armenian citizens over 27 years of age who have not completed their compulsory military service and are under criminal investigation shall be excused from criminal prosecution if they pay the two years' salary of a contract serviceman. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan—a member of the majority My Step faction in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, and Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport—on Friday wrote about this on Facebook.

"Besides in case of conducting two years of contract military service within the next three years after paying the above-mentioned amount and already being excused from criminal prosecution, they will get back the paid amount in full, as well as get the opportunity to enter public service," Hayrapetyan added.
