YEREVAN. – Between August 31 and September 11, a total of 46 cases of alcohol poisoning—from methanol—were registered in Armenia, 20 of them were fatal, whereas 25 victims were discharged from hospitals after receiving treatment, according to the Ministry of Health.

Twenty nine of these cases were registered in Armavir Province—with 10 fatalities, 15 in Yerevan—with 8 fatalities, and 2 in Kotayk Province—with 2 fatalities.

One patient is still receiving treatment at a Yerevan medical center, and doctors say this person is in critical condition.
