Laboratories in Sweden and France confirmed the poisoning of Russian politician Alexey Navalny with a substance from the Novichok group, Reuters reported referring to the German government.
German government spokesman Steffen Siebert also said that the samples taken from Navalny were also sent to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for their study in the organization's labs.
Three other labs independently identified a military nerve agent as the cause of Mr. Navalny's poisoning, Siebert said.
The German authorities claim that Alexey Navalny was poisoned with a chemical from the Novichok group.
Moscow denies this, claiming that Russian doctors have found no trace of chemical weapons in Navalny's analyzes.
