YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the government approved the proposal to sign a funding agreement between Armenia and the European Commission on phase I of the program to assist the implementation of judicial reform in Armenia.

The matter was presented by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, noting that the draft agreement stipulates funding by the European Commission in the amount of 30 million euros for phase I of this program, of which 3 million euros are for technical assistance—primarily consulting services, and the remaining 27 million euros shall be allocated to Armenia’s state budget in three equal shares—and in accordance with the terms of this agreement.

Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan, for his part, noted, in particular, that the first 9 million euros of this assistance were expected to be received this year.
