The Armenian community of Jerusalem is following the war in Artsakh with deep regret. Today at the local church the Armenian community hosted a candle-lighting ceremony in memory of the soldiers who died as a result of the enemy’s aggression.

“Today’s candle-lighting ceremony was dedicated to the memory of our heroes who died during the two-week war. With the lights of candles, we shaped the map of Armenia and Artsakh that symbolizes the borders of our homeland that our deceased heroes shaped by sacrificing their lives and their heroic acts that made the enemy agree on a ceasefire. We prayed for their souls to rest in peace, and we express our deep condolences to their families,” head of the divan of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Archimandrite Koryun Baghdasaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Anna and Naira, who were also participating in the ceremony, conveyed their condolences to the families of the soldiers who died for the defense of the homeland’s borders.

Due to the pandemic, the Armenians of Jerusalem were the main participants of the ceremony.

The Armenians of Jerusalem have also paid heed to the calls from Armenia and Artsakh to donate to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, and they have already transferred about $38,000 to the Fund.
