The ceasefire announced in joint statement of 9 October in Moscow must be respected and implemented, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan noted on Twitter on Saturday.

“Azerbaijan continued attacking Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] after 12pm today, violating their commitment. [Artsakh’s capital] Stepanakert is bombed right now. This is heinous aggression,” he added. 

Shushan Stepanyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, on Saturday had informed that the Artsakh Defense Army units had been ordered to cease fire. As a result of about 11 hours of talks in Moscow on Friday, the parties agreed to declare a ceasefire on Saturday at noon for humanitarian purposes—to exchange the bodies of the dead and the POWs.
