The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic will provide immediate humanitarian aid to the population affected by the ongoing conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the country will provide EUR 25,000 in funding through the International Committee of the Red Cross, which is the only international organization that can enter the whole conflict zone. The funds will be used to purchase medical accessories and primary foods.

“Great attention is paid to political interests, demands or historical mistakes, but what is often forgotten is that thousands of ordinary people are losing their homes, access to basic needs or even their lives. So, we decided to provide immediate assistance to the people who were affected by this conflict on both sides of the war,” Minister Ivan Korchok said.

Right after the launch of the hostilities, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic condemned the resolution of the conflict by force and called on the sides at war to restart political negotiations as soon as possible.
