My Greek colleagues conveyed to me the statement of the Agrarian Party of Greece (AKKEL) addressed to the European Parliament, as well as to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice of Israel. Naira Zohrabyan, a member of the opposition Prosperous Armenia parliamentary faction, wrote about this on Facebook.

The statement reads as follows:

The AKKEL Party of Greece is deeply shocked and outraged by the large-scale war waged by the Azerbaijani dictatorial regime against the Armenians in Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)]. The fact that Turkey, which had committed the Armenian Genocide, is now actively supporting Azerbaijan's illegal military action, obliges the EU to impose immediate sanctions on Azerbaijan, as well as on Turkey, as only sanctions can neutralize the barbarians.

Especially sad is the fact that [Azerbaijan president Ilham] Aliyev’s regime is using a large number of military equipment and systems supplied by Israeli companies.

The question arises why Israel sells military equipment to the regime that uses it against the Armenian civilian population.

The Agrarian Party of Greece asks for your personal intervention to end this war in Artsakh.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Armenians of Artsakh got rid of the Azerbaijani regime through a referendum and won a bloody war, which today the Azerbaijani side has started again.
