The first ombudsman of Armenia Larisa Alaverdyan appealed to the presidents of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries with a proposal to use space sensing systems to control the observance of the ceasefire by the parties to the Karabakh conflict.

Armenian News - NEWS.am presents the appeal of the country's first ombudsman to the heads of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states.

“Dear Presidents of Russia, the United States of America and France!

Highly appreciating and believing in your sincere interest in the soonest de-escalation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, including by introducing an agreed mechanism for verifying the ceasefire regime, I would like to draw your attention to the unrealized until now the possibility of pairing surveillance equipment on the ground and in airspace with  space means of the countries - co-chairmen of the Minsk Group on orbital sounding. This reliable method of monitoring and establishing the facts of ceasefire violations was developed by the Institute for National and Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia in cooperation with the leading experts, government agencies of strategic analytics of Russia and the United States. Submission of the processed space sounding data to the MG co-chairs will make it possible to accurately and unconditionally identify and bring to justice violators of the ceasefire regime

The call of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to strengthen ground-based air monitoring facilities is directed to the future. To implement this call, the consent of Azerbaijan is required.  Whereas for a space probe, the consent of the national government is not required. And we can also establish the fact not only of future violations, but of those already taking place.

This will put an end to the absolutely fruitless disputes that arise every time and in this case, when Azerbaijan, having launched an armed aggression involving Turkey and terrorists, accuses Armenia.
