Nobody should think that Russia will follow Turkey’s actions and not take steps. This is what Advisor to the President of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Davit Babayan told reporters during a briefing today.

Babayan predicts that Vladimir Putin will address the sides following the recent meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan held at the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation. “If Turkey and Azerbaijan ignore this as well, Russia might take coarser actions, and there are all the political preconditions for that. If terrorists enter Russia’s territory, that will be very serious. Nobody should think that Russia won’t take action and will follow Turkey’s actions in the South Caucasus,” Babayan said.

Babayan also emphasized that Turkey has entered the region and isn’t preparing to leave. According to some sources, mercenaries have been spotted near the borders of Dagestan, and the idea of a pan-Turkish army has already been introduced. Babayan says he is certain that the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization won’t participate in this venture.
