High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan has informed the Armenian government that the Armenians of the Diaspora haven’t used their full potential, even though there is a desire to do so.

“Protests and demonstrations are aimed at calling the public’s attention to the reality in Artsakh, helping the public have a positive attitude towards the Armenian people, and finally, achieve a substantive result,” Sinanyan stated. Asked if the protests and demonstrations are organized spontaneously or if they are coordinated by different Armenian organizations, Sinanyan said the following: “In the beginning, they were spontaneous, but now they are more coordinated.”

Sinanyan stated that Armenians of the Diaspora not only provide material and financial assistance, but also try to help Armenia with their knowledge and potential.

Asked which countries the voluntary doctors are coming from and whether they were the ones who came to Artsakh, Sinanyan said the Armenians of the Diaspora took the initiative and have traveled from Russia, the US and Europe.

Asked if there are Diaspora Armenian volunteers who go to the military front, Sinanyan said the following: “There were not many volunteers during the Artsakh war, but this time there is a huge flow of volunteers. This goes to show that the bond between Armenia and the Diaspora has become very strong over the years of independence.”
