The Qatar Airways flight scheduled for Thursday—and transporting humanitarian cargo to Armenia—from Los Angeles to Yerevan will not take place, in connection with which the aforementioned airline has not stated a good reason.

The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am that this humanitarian cargo was sent by the American-Armenian community to the civilians affected by the current Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)-Azerbaijani war.

Qatar Airways on Wednesday informed the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia about the cancellation of this flight. The plane conducting this flight was supposed to pass through Turkish airspace, too, but Turkey is creating obstacles for this humanitarian cargo being transported to Armenia.

"The organization of a new flight path through the territory of other countries, such as the Russian Federation or Georgia, is a matter of hours, so the airline must find other routes to transport humanitarian cargo," said Tatevik Revazian, Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia.

The Committee has petitioned to EUROCONTROL regarding this incident.
