At this moment, Turkey’s and Azerbaijan’s plans to take control over Nagorno-Karabakh through a blitzkrieg have failed. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan told RIA Novosti.

“At this moment, the self-defense army of Nagorno-Karabakh is maintaining defense. So, it is safe to say that, at this moment, the plans of Turkey and Azerbaijan to take control over Nagorno-Karabakh through a blitzkrieg have failed,” Pashinyan said.

According to him, the Armenians fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh can’t be viewed as mercenaries since they are representatives of the Diaspora. “As far as the Armenian side is concerned, of course, there are no foreigners on the side of Nagorno-Karabakh. There may be Armenians who have traveled from abroad to support their compatriots, but, of course, they can’t be viewed as mercenaries,” Pashinyan said.
