Brigadier General Abbas Azimi, Commander of the Air Defense Forces in northwestern Iran, said the country’s military is closely monitoring the escalation of events in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone near the northwestern borders of Iran, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Iran’s Armed Forces are fully prepared and carefully monitoring all movements near the borders as there is still no sign of a let-up between the warring sides, General Azimi told reporters. “The Army, IRGC [the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps], and Border Guards of the Islamic Republic of Iran are prepared to give a decisive response to the slightest threat against the country’s borders,” he said.
