During today’s press conference, Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia Artur Melikyan said the Committee has instituted 279 criminal cases based on facts of aggression against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Armenia, attacks on peaceful civilians, complicity in terrorism and several other crimes committed during Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s aggression.

According to him, the cases concern war crimes, as well as deliberate destruction of property, monuments and shrines. The Committee will use the evidence obtained through inquest in the legal and political senses, that is, to apply to international tribunals.

Melikyan also informed that 15 officials of the Committee have been drafted to the army, another 4 have left as volunteers, and more than 150 volunteer investigators are undergoing training in order go to the war zone. The Committee has collected AMD 13,000,000 and transferred it to Hayastan All-Armenian Fund to take care of the army’s needs.
