Editor-in-Chief of Istanbul’s Agos Armenian Weekly Yetvart Danzigian says over 140 Armenians have left Turkey since resumption of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Today, 142 Armenians of Turkey have returned to Armenia. I know that few are interested in this. We are being defeated. We are all being defeated and bleeding,” Danzigian tweeted.
In early October, nationalists of Turkey and Azerbajian held organized protests near the historically Armenian districts of Istanbul. Over the past weeks, there has been a new wave of hate speech against Armenians on social networks in Turkey, and this increases concerns over crimes on the ground of hatred against groups of minorities.
