YEREVAN. – According to forecasts, economic growth in Armenia in 2021 will make 4.8 percent The Minister of Finance, Atom Janjughazyan, said this in a conversation with journalists in the parliament.

In his words, the methodology used for this forecast takes into account the possible risks that may have an impact on Armenia’s economic growth. "The estimated 4-6% range of economic growth is more probable than the rest. And that probability is 0.27. (…). I will not make a revelation if I say that both due to the [COVID-19] pandemic, which implies uncertainty for the whole world, and in our specific case, due to the [current] hostilities, which forms a group of uncertainties typical for our country," the minister said in particular.

According to him, this forecast of economic growth is based on the earlier forecast of 6% economic decline. "After that forecast, we reviewed the budget and estimated that due to hostilities, we can expect an additional negative development of 0.8 percentage points this year," Janjughazyan explained.
