During a teleconference with representatives of religious denominations on the Day of National Unity, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict could have been settled peacefully and without the use of weapons, adding that Russia is doing everything possible to end the conflict quickly, is in touch with Armenia and Azerbaijan and hopes to achieve results that will satisfy everyone, RIA Novosti reported.
“You know that Russia is doing everything it can to make sure the conflict in the South Caucasus ends as soon as possible in order to save the lives of people shooting at each other with guns and rifles and using weapons against each other to achieve the goals that we strongly believe could have been achieved peacefully,” Putin said, adding that he hopes it will be possible to achieve results that would satisfy everyone living in the region.
