In regard to the Holy Savior Ghazanchetsots Cathedral of Shushi, we clearly showed that the Azerbaijanis had known that there were peaceful civilians in the cathedral in advance. This is what Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan told reporters in parliament today.

He also stated that a previously planned murder is one of the key elements of a war crime.

Touching upon the shelling of the cathedral in Shushi, Tatoyan said the following: “In the case of the first shelling, I asked the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh and found out that there were actually doctors in the basement at that hour and that they were providing medical services. When I talked to my international partners, I was told that the Azerbaijanis say the structure there was inactive and Armenians aren’t telling the truth. I presented the facts and told them that this isn’t the case.”
