Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan delivered his remarks at the 130th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe today, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

Prime Minister of Greece (chairing the CoE Committee of Ministers) Kyriakos Mitsotakis, alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis and CoE Secretary-General Marija Pejcinovic Buric addressed the participants with their welcoming speeches.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greek chairmanship published the declaration entitled “Effectively responding to a public health crisis in full respect for human rights, democracy and the rule of law”.

During the session, the participants marked the 70th anniversary of the signing of the European Convention on Human Rights.

In his remarks, the Armenian foreign minister presented the consequences of the large-scale military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) accompanied by war crimes, as well as violations of human rights and the legal-contractual procedure of the Council of Europe. Minister Mnatsakanyan urged to take necessary measures to ensure the free entry of the organization into conflict zones.
