Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan participated in the session of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments through a video call and gave a speech in which he particularly said the following:

Expressing a common view, I must say that the main goal of the CIS is still to ensure favorable conditions for further development of interstate cooperation in economics, humanitarian field, security and political cooperation.

Armenia welcomes the initiatives for cooperation in the mentioned sectors and is ready to support the effective implementation of adopted decisions. Once again, I would like to state that Armenia is ready to continue the practical steps for the establishment of favorable conditions for expansion of prospective sectors of mutually beneficial cooperation within the Council of CIS Heads of Governments.

As is known, on a global scale, every economic instability is an impetus for new approaches, innovations and capitalization of scientific achievements. In this sense, we attach special importance to the cooperation of the member countries of the CIS in innovative, educational, informational and other sectors.

Armenia expresses its willingness to deepen cooperation within the scope of programs for development of high technologies. In this context, Armenia attaches importance to the acceptance of the interstate plan for innovative cooperation of CIS countries and the signing of an agreement on information cooperation of CIS countries in the digital development sector before 2030.

Armenia also supports the adoption of documents proposed during the session that regulate and are targeted at improvement of the existing mechanisms for interested cooperation in different sectors, particularly the creation and development of a unified air defense system, the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, etc.

We attach great importance to the adoption of an action plan for the first five years of the Economic Development Strategy for development of economy and interstate trade and economic cooperation.

Summing up, I would like to express once again our willingness to harmonize our efforts in the fight against the pandemic and increase its effectiveness.”
