Berat Albayrak, the son-in-law of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced on Instagram on Sunday that he was resigning from the post of Minister of Finance—and due to health reasons, Ahval reported.

Albayrak is the second high-ranking official in the Turkish financial sector to step down this week.

Earlier, Erdogan had ousted the governor of the central bank, Murat Uysal.

Albayrak wrote that he was resigning in order to spend more time with his family, whom he did not pay proper attention to during his five years in government.
