President of Russia Vladimir Putin will hold a number of meeting with the leadership of the Armed Forces and representative of the country’s defensive complex next week, vesti.ru reports.

Vesti.ru also reports that, for the first time in history, the Russian army has surpassed all other armies with equippedness of new types of weapons over the past few years and as a result of meetings. In addition, the options for using the potential of the defense industry and manufacturing civilian products are discussed during those meetings held behind closed doors.

The website also reports that next week Putin will participate in the summit of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation which was supposed to take place in Saint Petersburg, but will be held remotely due to the pandemic.
