Every state has its interests, regardless of which political party comes to power. This is what deputy of the Bright Armenia opposition faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Ani Samsonyan told reporters today when asked if there is any expectation that the US government will be more active in the efforts for a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict during Biden’s administration, taking into consideration the statements he has made in the past.

“The US government’s approaches to the Artsakh issue will only depend on Armenia’s efforts and the agenda that it proposes to the US and what Armenia’s approach to partnership will be. Expecting that a new force will be pro-Armenian after coming to power in the US is simply idleness. Each state has its interests, and Armenia needs to try to combine its interests with the interests of the particular country and try to find ways to engage in dialogue,” the MP said.
