In an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am, Spokesperson of the Republican Party of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov said the discussions on the hostilities in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) continue and that whatever the press wrote about the Republican Party is an obscene lie.

“Discussions are in progress, and political parties are expressing their views. We will provide details when we reach consensus. One thing is clear — the situation is grave and catastrophic. The Republican Party of Armenia has given its evaluations during the meeting with the Prime Minister and the discussions with political parties,” Sharmazanov said, adding that the statement by extra-parliamentary forces, including by the Republican Party of Armenia on the need for the establishment of special state body (operational management headquarters) is still in effect.

“The Republican Party of Armenia has said that the government needs to consolidate the potential of the nation, state figures, experienced diplomats, military figures, ex-presidents and ex-Prime Ministers. It has also called on working the right way in all directions and enhance relations with Russia, which is de facto Armenia’s only ally,” he said and concluded by saying that all efforts need to be made to fix the military-political situation on the military front and that everyone is looking towards Artsakh.
