Over the past three to four days, Azerbaijan has been mainly concentrating its efforts in the direction of Shushi. This is what representative of the Defense Army of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Colonel Suren Sarumyan said during today’s briefing.

According to him, during this period, there have been persistent battles, the units of the Defense Army have defended and are defending one of the symbols of the Armenian identity and Artsakh, that is, the fortress city Shushi and are ready to resolutely meet their objective.

“During the day, the adversary made more strikes in the direction of Shushi, the attacking units and groups were detected and suffered great casualties. I must also mention that our units succeeded in capturing two Azerbaijani servicemen. Currently, the battles in the direction of Shushi continue,” he said.

Sarumyan also noted that there is a subtlety — the logic of the battles implies development of operations and a certain period during which those operations are carried out.
