Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova says the Russian-Turkish ceasefire control center will be deployed in the territory of Azerbaijan and won’t be linked to the peacekeeping operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, RIA Novosti reported.

Earlier, the source of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had reported that Ankara’s role in the peacekeeping operations in Nagorno-Karabakh would be restricted within the scope of the to-be-established Russian-Turkish ceasefire control center and wouldn’t be directly linked to the peacekeeping operations. Zakharova had added that the center would be set up in the territory of Azerbaijan which is not adjacent to Nagorno-Karabakh.

“Here we need to clearly understand that this isn’t about the peacekeeping efforts described in the statement, but a totally different mission. I would like to emphasize once again that they aren’t linked to each other. Once again, I would like to call your attention to the fact that the center will be based in the territory of Azerbaijan,” she added.
