Spokesperson of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov says Turkey’s desire to deploy a monitoring center in Nagorno-Karabakh doesn’t coincide with Kremlin’s notion, TASS reported. Peskov said this in response to the statement by the Office of the President of Turkey that there is a plan to deploy a center for monitoring the conditions for ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh in the territory occupied by Azerbaijan.

Peskov also mentioned that the center needs to be deployed in the territory of Azerbaijan.

As reported the press service of the President of Azerbaijan, the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey on Tuesday discussed the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh and the creation of a ‘Russian-Turkish peacekeeping center’ in the region.

The same day, Peskov told reporters that there is no word about the creation of a monitoring center in the territory of Azerbaijan in the joint statement by Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan on the ceasefire and the conditions for ceasefire.
