The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has provided RIA Novosti with the map for deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Russian servicemen started arriving in Armenia yesterday. Some of them have already left for Nagorno-Karabakh and will create 16 vantage grounds along the length of the line of contact and the Lachin corridor.
Head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Sergey Rudskoy reported that the peacekeepers are armed with armored fighting vehicles and the Tigr and Taifun armored vehicles.
“Units of the Military Police will also perform tasks during the peacekeeping operation,” he said, adding that the peacekeepers have already contacted Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers.
